Ok, so while I might splurge on some accessories (reference this post), when it comes to jewelry, I’m a cheapskate! I lose earrings all the time, and I honestly don’t think it’s worth it to spend too much on small accents.
That said, these are 5 essentials I keep in my jewelry box.
1. CZ studs
When all else fails, pop in a stud earring. I scored Cubic Zirconia large studs at Off Saks for less than $50. I buy jewelry cleaner to make sure they shine like the real thing. Perhaps one day in the near future I’ll go for diamond studs, but my cubic zirconia’s work for now!
2 Large Gold or Silver Hoops
A good hoop is a girl’s best friend. Get a pair in silver, gold, and one blinged out.
I spent say…$40 on some gold hoops from Macy’s, and they broke. Now I get my hoops from Aldo for $15 a pop.
3. Stacked Bangles
Maybe I’m alone in trying to make the stacked bangle ‘thing’ happen, but I love the look. I got 2 or 3 stacks for $12.80 a pop from Nasty Gal, which means I have zero guilt when wearing them, say, to go swimming.
I wear my bangles…all the time. And before I bought mine from Nasty Gal, I found a bunch in Target.
Cheap and chic.
4. Gold and Silver Cuffs
Cuffs in both gold and silver are a necessity in my humble opinion! Buy two of each colorway so you can wear one on each wrist or double up. Again, don’t spend too much. I purchased the Aqua cuffs featured for $38 each from Bloomingdales.
Sometimes I wear them all at once!
5. Assorted Rings
Sometimes I like to do both hands full of rings.
Though the ones above are by Melody Ehsani, I get a lot of my ‘filler’ rings (and a lot of other jewelry in general) from Topshop. Their assorted packs are $28 and are frequently on sale.
Anyway, those are just a few thoughts.
